The village of Ramatuelle overlooks the whole bay of Pampelonne on the Var coast in Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur in the south east of France. Ramtuelle is located on the Saint-Tropez peninsula. It is a small village of 2.000 souls in winter which turns into a very touristic seaside area in summer.

Ramatuelle is home to the mythical beach of Pampelonne. This beach is occupied by many private establishments where all the show biz gets together in summer. Let's not forget that Johnny Hallyday was the owner of a superb villa, the Lorada, on the heights of Ramatuelle and the Gulf of Saint Tropez for many years.

If you are looking for a little privacy, you can go to the creeks of Canadel, the beach of La Douane, the beach of l'Escalet or the cove of Bonne Terrasse. These beaches are less frequented than the beach of Pampelonne even if in summer, it remains difficult to find a quiet place in this area of the French Riviera.

Ramatuelle is also an authentic medieval village to discover. The village is organized around a snail shape. Walking in the alleys, you will be able to observe many vestiges of the past such as the chapel Sainte Anne, the old prisons or the Saracen door.

If you like good wine, Ramatuelle has many wineries producing a very good quality wine. You will be able to taste the production of the Mas de Pampelonne, the Domaine de la Tourraque and the Château des Marres.

What to do around Ramatuelle?

North of Ramatuelle, you will arrive in Saint-Tropez. This fishing village has become the place to be for stars and revellers in summer. In the south, you will cross La Croix-Valmer before arriving in Cavalaire-sur-Mer whose beaches have nothing to envy to those of Ramatuelle.
