What to do in Correns?

Correns is a typical Provençal village. You will enjoy walking through its streets with their historical charm. You will pass through Fort Gibron, which dominates the village. The village church has a particular history. Since the 11th century, a millennial celebration has been held in some years on May 3. This is the Feast of Forgiveness granted to fishermen. This celebration is very special because it takes place every 6, 5, 6 and 11 years (Grand Pardon). During the feast, thousands of Christians make pilgrimages to the church to beg the Lord's forgiveness. You will appreciate the beauty of the church choir. A relic of the cross of Christ is stored there.

Around the village, there is no shortage of activities in the heart of nature. You can take advantage of the waters of the Argens to refresh yourself and practice water sports such as canoeing and kayaking. A very pleasant hiking circuit passes through the Sourn valley. There are some beautiful walks to do along the Argens.

As an organic village, Correns organises the organic festival every year in August. About a hundred exhibitors are taking over the village to present organic and eco-responsible products.

Correns is also the place where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie live. They stay from time to time at the Château de Miraval, in the middle of nature, in the middle of the vineyards.

What to do around Correns?

Correns is only 15 minutes from Brignoles, the largest city around. You can discover the palace of the Counts of Provence. In the village next to the Val, you will visit the museum of the old toy and the historical figurine. A little further on is Saint-Maximin and its beautiful basilica.

10 minutes from Correns, you can visit the contemporary art centre of Chateauvert. A little higher up, you will be able to Barjols, the village with 30 fountains, famous for its tripe festival.

The village of Cotignac is 20 minutes from Correns. It is here that the sanctuary of Our Lady of Graces and the monastery of Saint Joseph, perched above the village, are located.
